William H. Drummond writes

The Faerie Birthday Bash

At the faerie birthday bash

Everybody had such fun
They had mushroom ice cream mash
And a cake shaped like the sun
They played games (but not for cash)
Which the hostess always won
At the faerie birthday bash
There was fun for everyone

The dryad and the gnome

Sang a song and danced a prance
And they would have danced to Rome
If they were given half a chance
But they knew they must go home
So they only danced to France
The dryad and the gnome
Showed everybody how to dance

The stately unicorn

Gave the birthday girl a ride
And he let her hold his horn
Though it was most against his pride
His facade was finally torn
When his smile he could not hide
The stately unicorn
Made her feel good inside

The water nymph, her friend

Wore a very good disguise
She waited till the end
hen she sprang her big surprise
She threw off her mask and then
Showed her how friendship never dies
The water nymph, her friend
Was very, very wise

The old crone from the ice

Tried to make the bash a bust
She wasn’t very nice
And she threw things and she cussed
But the rest did not think twice
They covered her with faerie dust
Then old crone from the ice
Saw her bad plans turn to rust
