  1. Wat Phra That Choeng Chum is a temple close to Nong Han Lake in Sakon Nakhon, Thailand. Nong Han Luang, the city, was built by the Khmer viceroy of Inthapat in the 11th century, and it became an important city in the the Khmer empire of Sri Khotraboon. Then it fell under Lao rule (Lanchang)until Siam (Thailand) established its control over the area, governed by the deputy governor of Kalasin; the city was renamed Sakon Thavapi (New City by the Pond). In 1830 it became Sakon Nakhon, the City of Cities. The wat marks the spot where the four incarnations of the Buddha (Phra Kakusantha, Phra Konakom, Phra Kassapa, and the present one, Phra Kodom or Phra Sri Ariyametrei) pressed their footprints in the soil.
